that the institution has lost her pioneer Vice Chancellor, Prof Emmanuel
Ayandele. We will keep all our facebook users posted on further development.
"Our deceased pioneer Vice
Chancellor, professor Ayandele was described at the second convocation of
unical by the then Pro-Chancellor, Dr E.C Abebe thus :" The Midwife who
was on duty when the infant University of Calabar was born. He saw the birth
pangs and delivered the baby; he then stayed on to become the nurse. If the
University of Calabar has become the virile academic institution of which we
are all proud today, much of the credit must go to Professor (Chief) Emmanuel
Ayandele who gave it direction and purposeful leadership ".
